Created by independent artists in Iran, The Final Anthem reached us before contact is lost, after another internet shutdown imposed by the Islamic Republic, on the eve of war, 28 February 2026. Made under conditions of silence, surveillance, and fear, the piece could not be completed as intended. For this reason, the version presented here remains unfinished.
This song is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 2026 massacre, and to all the courageous protesters who continue to demand freedom around the world.
Created by independent artists in Iran, The Shout reached us during a brief return of the internet in February 2026. The songwriters sent the piece without having seen any images of the massacre, cut off from social media and from the world beyond the blackout. A music video was then created and sent back for final checks. It was only then that the songwriter saw the images of the massacre for the first time and was deeply traumatised by what had happened.
This work carries the weight of that distance: composed in darkness while the house was burning, completed in grief, and marked forever by the moment of holding those images and words as witness.
